Q.   Where can I go on NassauTRANSIT?

A.  NassauTRANSIT takes you – on our fleet of 20+ comfortable buses – throughout Nassau County, including Amelia Island, Fernandina Beach, Yulee, Hilliard, Callahan and Bryceville, Monday – Friday. Same-day rides are also available on Amelia Island, Monday – Friday and Saturday. Nassau Express Select offers executive-style commuter service between Nassau County and downtown Jacksonville in the morning, afternoon and evening, Monday – Friday.

Q.  How do I book a ride?

A.  Call in advance to schedule where you need to go…Fernandina Beach or Westside Senior Life Centers, doctor, grocery store, pharmacy, hair salon/barber and more! On the eastside, call 904-261-0700; on the westside, call 904-845-3331, option #6. Scheduled rides are for approved riders; approved application required.

Q.   Are rides to Jacksonville available?

A.  Yes, NassauTRANSIT will take you to Jacksonville Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, 7 am – 1:30 pm. Schedule at least 5 days in advance by calling 904-845-3331, Option #6. Nassau Express Select also travels from Nassau County to Jax and back, Monday – Friday.

Q.   Are same-day rides available?

A.   Yes, on Amelia Island; Monday – Friday, 8 am – 4 pm (call 904-261-0700 for pick-up; Saturday, 9 am – 12 noon, 1 pm – 5 pm (call 904-832-1218 for pick-up).

Q.  What is the cost to ride on NassauTRANSIT?

Not only is NassauTRANSIT comfortable, it is also affordable.

  • Public transit: $2 per boarding; a NassPASS can be purchased for $20 (20 rides) from the bus operator (cash only)
  • Registered paratransit (scheduled in advance): $2 one way, $4 round-trip
  • Nassau Express Select: $3 one-way, $5 for a one-day pass and $90 for a 31-day pass; based on income eligibility, Nassau County residents may qualify for a reduced fare

 

Q.  Is NassauTRANSIT for seniors only?

A.  No. Even though NassauTRANSIT is operated by Nassau County Council on Aging (NCCOA), all services – both public transit and registered paratransit – are for everyone, including residents, visitors and tourists.
