NassauTRANSIT Expands Public Transportation, Nassau Express Select Takes You to Jax

Exciting news! NassauTRANSIT’s Island Hopper public transportation service is expanding! Need to get from the library to Walmart? From home to the pharmacy? On-demand public transportation is now available anywhere on Amelia Island, Monday through Saturday (excluding holidays). Hours are Monday through Friday from 1 pm to 5pm, and Saturday from 9 am to 5 pm. The fare is still only $2 per person per boarding. NassauTRANSIT’s Nassau Express Select continues to offer commuters an executive-style, affordable ride between Nassau County and downtown Jacksonville. Enjoy complimentary Wi-Fi and USB ports; wheelchair access also available. Using the service is easy. In the mornings, board at Barnabas on Jasmine Street or at Walmart. Then enjoy a short connecting ride to the Nassau Express Select bus at the Yulee Winn-Dixie. Or, park and ride directly from the Winn-Dixie lot in Yulee. In the afternoons, board downtown Jacksonville and relax on the ride back to Yulee. No application or scheduling required. One-way cash fare is $3; income-eligible Nassau County residents may qualify for a reduced fare. Service is offered early mornings and late afternoons, Monday through Friday (excluding holidays).
